Meridian Unveils New Music Format, MQA
Meridian’s MQA Promises Studio Quality Music in Streamable File Sizes
December 4th, 2014 – Meridian unveils a revolutionary British technology called MQA (Master Quality Authenticated). With the new technology, Meridian set out to change the way we enjoy music. The new technology promises high-resolution audio in a streamable or downloadable file size.
Bob Stuart, founder of Meridian Audio, said: “Music-lovers need no longer be shortchanged… finally we can all hear exactly what the musicians recorded. MQA gives a clear, accurate and authentic path from the recording studio all the way to any listening environment.”
Meridian MQA is an entirely new method of digitally capturing recorded music in a file that’s small and convenient to download or, crucially, stream, but with none of the sonic sacrifices associated with compressed files.
Meridian MQA brings together the three ideals of studio-quality sound, convenience and end-to-end authenticity. It uses a completely new concept of capturing the total essence of an original recording and conveying it all the way to the listener, assuring that what they are listening to is identical to the master recording.
MQA will be available early 2015.
